The beach of Santa Maria in Sal, eight kilometers of gilded sand bathed by the emerald-green water of the ocean is the ideal destination for deep see fishing, windsurf, surf, kite surf and sailing.

Windsurf and Kitesurf
Santa Maria in Sal is a true place "allround" with 4 different spots, all famous in the surf world. The wind blows from northeast, side shore.


The 5-km-long bay with its wide beach of sand is desert and offers good conditions for slalom and speed. Experts and lovers of the wave can enjoy the two points at the edge of the bay. In summer there is little wave and the water is rather calm.
May and June are still months with good wind, while from July to September it is weak and offers perfect learning possibilities.

Diving
Diving Backdrops create a unique environment: a promiscuity between the tropical, even if very colored one and the Mediterranean one. In fact, we find shoals, lava rock with sponges and launchings organisms. Breakings provide great quantities of shellfish and fish of various dimension, with a little luck the enormous sharks can be met.

Fishing Exceptionally interesting and satisfying in every island even if, to said of the experts, the island of Boavista for the fishing "surf custing" and "rock fishing" it is perhaps the more appropriated.
So, both from the boat and from the coast, the loot is guaranteed with a lot of fishes. You can possibility enjoy a day in struggle with the marlin or with other notable preys in the deep see fishing.

Excursions
On the island of Sal it is possible to take part in the driven excursions of the island or to rent a car.
The tour of the island foresees the visit to the Salt pans of Pedra de Lume, that are in the crater of an extinct volcano, to the natural swimming pool of Buracona, to the oasis of Fontona, to the small port of Palmeira, to Ponta Preta where the dunes of sand are and you can enjoy of an incredible panorama.
There is the possibility to visit the other islands by daily excursions.
